2018

Our younger son and I both like Kandinsky paintings so I did a wood burning of one of them (used wax pencils plus Varsol to add the colours).
Surprisingly it was awarded a first prize ribbon at the Canadian Wood Carving Competition in Hamilton in February.
An American Woodcock, relaxing….
We saw some of the real ones performing amazing courting rituals around Point Pelee National Park one evening.

Aurora Borealis during a winter camp fire. Woodburning.

Some kind of a German Fairy Castle carved in Cotton Wood Bark. It is fun to carve in cotton wood bark since one does not have to follow a pattern just trust your imagination…

A break from carving at a Mandarin restaurant……

A stylized Mourning Dove even got a first prize ribbon.
Sold in the meantime to a Tillsonburg bird lover around.
This is actually not one of my carvings but one by Mike Sola from the Tri-County Carving Club in Otterville, who always comes up with unusual and great carvings…
MAORI INSPIRATION influenced by our visit to New Zealand a while ago.
Received a third place ribbon even when our carving club members did not know what it was supposed to be.
Some of my items for sale at a local craft show
An early version of the TWO OLD CROWS sign for the coffee place in Dutton.
This one was discarded since the hats were not approved.
