My first ribbon was a yellow Honorable Mention for the GREATER YELLOWLEGS, Category Shorebird/ Beginner during the BUCKHORN ART FESTIVAL in August 2007. I still have this carving, which was made with brass legs and epoxy.

In 2008 the first 1st Prize Ribbon for this Loon with Baby

Kawartha Carving Competition, Bobcaygeon.
This was done with cut outs and guidance from Frank Nuttall, who was at that time the president of the Buckhorn Carvers.
And the very first 2nd place ribbon for this stylized Kingfisher
Ontario Wood Carvers Association Show in Pickering
This SCANDINAVIAN DUCK made it to one of my first 3rd Prize ribbons in 2009, which was a surprise.

In 2016 the relief carving “THE WESTWIND” won a purchase award at the Quinte Carving competition. It was inspired by the painting from Tom Thomson.
In the last type of awards “BEST OF SHOW” this KINGFISHER, received a ribbon for 3rd Best of Class

Another type of a different award was obtained with this relief carving of a SURREALISTIC LANDSCAPE inspired by Salvador Dali’s melting clocks…
In my early carving days I showed only one carving a year until I was informed that I could enter the same carving in different shows as long as it was within the same year so then this carving received multiple ribbons.

Many more ribbons followed in different categories but there is one more to mention since it was received during my only participation at the Ocean City, USA, Ward World Championship in 2014

It was only an Honorable Mention (but that was still great for being at this world class event.
