My first ribbon was a yellow Honorable Mention for the GREATER YELLOWLEGS, Category Shorebird/ Beginner during the BUCKHORN ART FESTIVAL in August 2007. I still have this carving, which was made with brass legs and epoxy.

This was done with cut outs and guidance from Frank Nuttall, who was at that time the president of the Buckhorn Carvers.

In my early carving days I showed only one carving a year until I was informed that I could enter the same carving in different shows as long as it was within the same year so then this carving received multiple ribbons.
Many more ribbons followed in different categories but there is one more to mention since it was received during my only participation at the Ocean City, USA, Ward World Championship in 2014
